Recently, I experienced a small modern version of that story.
I was grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s with my preschooler when a wonderful employee named Jann offered us a sample of spicy Alfredo pasta. I politely explained my son wouldn’t try it because he isn’t a fan of spice—he’s strictly a white rice kind of kid.
