15 Abraham Coloring Pages About a Promise as Big as the Stars (Abraham, Sarah & Isaac)
When many people think about the Story of Abraham, they picture an elderly man looking up at a sky full of stars. But for children, Abraham’s story is about something much bigger: learning to trust God even when the future doesn’t make sense.
These Abraham coloring pages help children explore God’s promises through simple, memorable scenes they can color while talking about faith, family, courage, hospitality, and obedience.
A Note from Louisa (Founder of MyKidColors)
I remember driving to Yellowstone from Wyoming and just staring out the window the whole way, the sky and the mountains felt so wide and dramatic that I felt genuinely small in a good way.
That’s the feeling I picture when I read this story, Abraham standing outside his tent looking up at more stars than he could ever count, being told that’s the size of what was coming for his family.
This story is part of something biggerโฆ

Why Our Coloring Pages Are Hand-Drawn
This is a story about scale, a promise so big it’s compared to counting every star in the sky, and that only lands if a child can actually feel the size of it on the page.
I wanted a human illustrator who would fill page after page with real stars, not a token handful, and who would let Sarah’s private laugh in the tent doorway feel as important as Abraham’s arms raised to the sky, in a set built around Abraham coloring pages.
As a mom-led brand, we also believe learning should be practical for busy families. That’s why our printable resources are designed to be easy to download, simple to use, and meaningful enough to spark conversations that continue long after the crayons have been put away.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I teach the entire Abraham story using these coloring pages?
Yes! The collection follows many of the major moments in Abraham’s life, including God’s call, His promises, Sarah’s laughter, hospitality, Isaac’s birth, Abraham and Lot, and the story of Abraham and Isaac. They work well as a multi-week Bible unit.
Which pages work best for teaching God’s promise to Abraham?
Pages 1, 5, 6, 12, and 15 all focus on God’s promise through the stars. They’re ideal when teaching God’s Promise to Abraham Coloring Page, Abraham Stars Coloring Page, or lessons about trusting God’s promises.
How can I make the Abraham and Isaac lesson less intimidating for younger children?
Focus on God’s provision instead of fear. Begin with Page 12, which reminds children of God’s promises, then move to Page 13, emphasizing that God lovingly provided the ram. Finish by creating a simple Abraham and Isaac Craft where children write or draw ways God provides for their family today.
My child asks why God made Abraham and Sarah wait so long for a baby. How do I answer that honestly?
I’d be honest that the story doesn’t fully explain why, only that the wait was real and long, and that Sarah’s first response was laughter, not faith. Pages 6 and 7, the promise under the stars and Sarah laughing quietly to herself, are a good pair to sit with together, since they show both the size of the promise and how hard it was to actually believe at first.
This story includes Abraham being asked to sacrifice Isaac. I don’t see that scene in the pages, is it addressed at all?
We made a deliberate choice to keep that part of the story off the page. Page 13 shows only the ram caught in the thicket, the moment of provision, not the moment leading up to it. For younger kids, that’s enough to talk about God providing exactly what was needed at exactly the right time. If your child is older and ready for the fuller story, I’d read Genesis 22 together directly rather than relying on a coloring page to carry that weight.
