15 Free Baptism Coloring Pages for Christenings, Godparents & Family Celebrations
Think back to your own baptism, or your child’s. The candle, the tiny gown, the whole family crowded around the font trying not to cry. It’s one of those moments that stays with you long after the day is over.
These 15 free Baptism coloring pages are designed to help kids hold onto that same feeling, whether they’re preparing for their own baptism, celebrating a new baby sibling’s, or simply learning what the sacrament means in Sunday School.
From the baptismal font to the walk home from church, this set turns a big spiritual moment into something small hands can color and understand.
A Note from Louisa (Founder of MyKidColors)
My twin sister and I asked our dad to help us get baptized before we left for college, but we couldn’t find the place we were supposed to go, and it never happened.

If your child connected with this story, theyโll love the full collection.
This isnโt just coloring.
Itโs quiet, faith-filled moments where kids see themselves in Scripture.
Inside youโll find:
- 25 hand-drawn Bible scenes rooted in real stories
- Representation that helps children feel seen and included

- Easy, print-and-use pages for busy days
Less screen time. More soul time.
I didn’t actually get baptized until years later, in college, on my own decision. Then in my late twenties I was baptized again into the Catholic Church and took my First Communion. My baptism story took a long, winding road to get where it needed to go, and that’s exactly why this collection means something to me.
Whether it happens as a baby in a christening gown or as an adult making the choice yourself, it’s never really about the exact timing. It’s about being called by name, the way Isaiah 43:1 puts it, waiting there the whole time.
Conversation Corner: 3 Questions to Ask While Coloring
While your child colors, try asking these questions:
- For “Mother Holding Baby Over the Font” (Page 1): “This mom looks so happy holding her baby for this special day. Who was there when you (or your baby brother or sister) got baptized?”
- For “Girl in a Wheelchair Holding a Candle with Her Family” (Page 9): “Everyone in this picture is holding a candle together. Why do you think it matters that the whole family holds a candle, and not just one person?”
- For “Family Gathered Around the Font” (Page 15): “This family is gathered around the font together. What does it mean to you that you belong to God’s family, not just your own family?”
The Collection: 15 Free Baptism Coloring Pages
We’ve organized these into three sets to help you teach the meaning of baptism โ from the day itself to what it means for everyday life.
For Little Hands: The Baptism Day (Pages 1โ5)
Best for toddlers and preschoolers. These pages focus on the simple, joyful moment of baptism itself.
- Page 1: A smiling mother holds her baby girl over a baptismal font, paired with Isaiah 43:1 to introduce the idea that each child is called by name and loved.
- Page 2 & 3: A simple line-art candle wrapped in ribbon sits alongside a scene of a man in a decorative tunic smiling down at a baby in the font, giving little ones the key symbols of the day.
- Page 4 & 5: A joyful girl with braided hair holds her mother’s hand walking past a friendly dog on the way to church, next to a minimalist droplet-and-heart design, connecting baptism to everyday family life.
Welcomed by the Church Family (Pages 6โ10)
Perfect for elementary kids. These pages visualize the community and family surrounding a baptism.
- Page 6: A priest stands behind the font blessing an infant while a praying family gathers close inside the church, showing kids the full ceremony in one scene.
- Page 7 & 8: An elderly woman carefully sews a baby gown in her armchair, and a family enjoys an outdoor picnic under a tree beside a resting cat, both scenes tying the sacred day to loving, everyday preparation and celebration.
- Page 9 & 10: A smiling girl in a wheelchair holds a baptismal candle alongside family members doing the same, and three children gather near a porch banner reading “WELCOME TO THE FAITH,” reinforcing that baptism welcomes every child fully.
Growing in Faith (Pages 11โ15)
Designed for older kids or quiet reflection. These scenes connect baptism to ongoing faith and family life.
- Page 11: Inside the sanctuary, a priest holds an infant over the font while a youth choir sings nearby, showing baptism as a whole-church celebration.
- Page 12 & 13: A family in flowing robes holds an infant outside a courtyard home with rooftop solar panels, and a child with dreadlocks explores nature with a magnifying glass near a stone fountain, linking baptism to wonder and everyday faith.
- Page 14 & 15: A multi-generational family shares a meal together at the table, and a family gathers around the font holding an infant beneath a “Baptism Coloring Pages” banner, closing the set with a picture of faith passed down through generations.
Perfect for Sunday School & Homeschool Teachers
Parents and teachers love using these as baptism activity sheets, baptism worksheets, and Christian coloring sheets. Here are a few ways to extend the lesson:
- Sunday School Teachers: Use Page 6 as a visual anchor while explaining the baptism ceremony, then let kids practice “pouring” water with a small pitcher over a bowl to act out the blessing gently.
- Homeschool Parents: Pair these Baptism coloring pages with a short lesson on what baptism symbolizes, using Page 5’s water-droplet page as an easy visual for younger kids.
- Godparents & Sponsors: Use Page 9’s candle scene to talk with godchildren about their role as a “light-holder” in the child’s faith journey, and consider gifting a real candle alongside the coloring set.
- Multi-Generational Families: Use Page 14’s family dinner scene to prompt grandparents to share their own baptism memories or family traditions tied to the sacrament.
Drawn by Real People, Made for Real Kids
A baptism looks different in every family, a christening gown one grandmother sewed by hand, a wheelchair right at the front of the church, a boom box on the porch at the party afterward, and that range only comes through if an illustrator actually sits with each version of the day.
I wanted a human illustrator who would draw the specific cowrie-shell bracelet on a grandmother’s wrist, not a generic christening scene repeated fifteen times, in a set built around baptism coloring pages.
At MyKidColors, we collaborate with real human illustrators. Every Baptism illustration in this set was thoughtfully created to center dignity, cultural awareness, and emotional truth.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s a meaningful way to use these pages for a sibling’s upcoming baptism?
Have the older child color Page 1 or Page 3 the night before, then let them “gift” the picture to their new sibling as a keepsake, giving them a sense of ownership over the special day too.
Can these pages be used outside of a Catholic or Orthodox tradition?
Yes! The scenes focus on universal Christian themes like belonging, blessing, and family, so they work well for Baptist, Methodist, non-denominational, and other Christian traditions that celebrate baptism or dedication.
Is this about my own child’s baptism, or the story of Jesus being baptized in the Bible?
This set is about your own family’s baptism, the christening gown, the font, the godparents, the celebration afterward, not the Bible story of Jesus being baptized by John the Baptist. If you’re looking for that story specifically, we also have a Baptism of Jesus and John the Baptist collection, this one is meant for your own family’s day.
