Walking through that town, with its year-round Christmas decorations, was a surreal and joyful experience, like stepping right into a storybook.

A Word About Artistry

As I mentioned, I was lucky enough to visit North Pole, Alaska. It’s a real place, but the North Pole we dream of is pure magic. It’s a feeling.

When our artists created this set, we tried to capture that feeling. You’ll see it in the cozy smoke curling from the chimneys (Page 5 ), the magical swirl of the northern lights (Page 11, 14, 15), and the happy, busy expressions on the elves’ faces (Page 7 ).

For me, this magical feeling of generosity, joy, and wonder points directly back to the true meaning of the season: the birth of Jesus.
