These 15 pages focus on the invitation and the celebration itself. If your child is older and ready for that fuller layer, I’d read Matthew 22:11-14 together separately and talk it through directly.
My child sometimes feels left out of things. Is this a good story for that, or could it feel like a sore subject?
I think it can actually be a comforting one, as long as you lead with the second invitation rather than the first rejection. The people who ended up at the feast were never on the original guest list at all, and they still got a seat at the same table. That’s worth naming directly if your child has felt left out somewhere.
