15 Free Rahab and the Spies Coloring Pages About Courage Under Pressure (Joshua 2)
Most Bible heroes start out looking like heroes. Rahab didn’t. She was an outsider in Jericho, running an inn, with no army and no title, and yet she’s the one who hid two Israelite spies, misled an entire search party, and changed the course of her family’s future with a single scarlet cord.
That’s the thing about the Rahab and the Spies story: it doesn’t teach kids that courage belongs to the strongest person in the room. It teaches them that courage belongs to whoever chooses to act on faith, even when it’s risky.
These 15 Rahab and the Spies Coloring Pages walk kids through the full Joshua 2 story, from the knock at her door to her place in the family tree that leads to Jesus.
A Note from Louisa (Founder of MyKidColors)
I’ve spent some of my adult life as the newcomer, in Wyoming, in Alaska, in Ontario, learning how a new place worked well enough to actually belong there, not just visit.

I think about that whenever I read Rahab’s story. She wasn’t born into the community that eventually claimed her as one of their own. She made a decision, under real pressure, that changed which story she belonged to.
I don’t think belonging always starts with birth. Sometimes it starts with a choice.
Conversation Corner: 3 Questions to Ask While Coloring
Turn this activity into a bonding moment. While your child colors, try asking these questions:
- For “Rahab Hides the Spies on the Roof” (Page 4): “Rahab took a big risk to protect people she’d just met. Has there ever been a time you had to be brave to help someone?”
- For “Rahab Ties the Scarlet Cord” (Page 8): “Rahab trusted a promise made by two strangers. What does it mean to trust someone, even when you can’t see how things will turn out?”
- For “Rahab’s Place in the Family Tree” (Page 14): “Rahab wasn’t born into the Israelite family, but she became part of their story anyway. Who are the people who’ve become like family to you?”
The Collection: 15 Free Rahab and the Spies Coloring Pages
We’ve organized this Rahab and the Spies coloring page set into three tiers to help you teach the full story of Joshua 2, from a knock at the door to a place in Jesus’s family line.
For Little Hands: Rahab Opens Her Door (Pages 1โ5)
Best for toddlers and preschoolers. These pages focus on simple scenes, clear faces, and the basic shape of the story: a woman who welcomes strangers and then has to protect them.
- Page 1 shows Rahab at home in Jericho as visitors sit nearby, a gentle way to introduce the setting before the action starts.
- Pages 2 & 3 cover the warm welcome and the tense knock at the door, perfect for talking about hospitality and quick thinking side by side.
- Pages 4 & 5 capture Rahab hiding the spies under flax stalks and pointing the guards down the wrong street, the heart of her clever courage.

Faith Under the Stars: Rahab’s Promise (Pages 6โ10)
Perfect for elementary kids. These pages visualize the turning point of the story: Rahab’s declaration of faith and the covenant that follows.
- Page 6 shows Rahab under a starry sky, declaring her faith in the God of the Israelites, a great page for talking about believing in someone before you fully understand them.
- Pages 7 & 8 walk through Rahab’s plea for her family and the scarlet cord she ties as a sign of the agreement, tying promises to visible symbols.
- Pages 9 & 10 show the spies’ escape over the wall and Rahab gathering her family under the marked window, a natural moment to talk about protecting the people we love.

The Full Story & Application: From Jericho to Jesus (Pages 11โ15)
Designed for older kids or quiet reflection. These scenes include the fall of Jericho, Rahab’s rescue, and her surprising place in biblical history.
- Page 11 shows Jericho’s walls crumbling while Rahab’s house stands untouched, a striking image for discussing kept promises.
- Pages 12 & 13 show Rahab’s family being welcomed to safety and celebrating life in the Israelite camp, a good pair for talking about new beginnings.
- Pages 14 & 15 place Rahab in the family tree leading to Jesus and give kids a full story cover poster to review everything they’ve learned.

Perfect for Sunday School, Homeschool, Classrooms & Family Devotions
- Homeschool Families: Parents are pairing Page 8 (the scarlet cord) with a simple red-yarn craft, then sitting down to color together while talking through what it means to trust a promise you can’t fully see yet.
- Classroom Teachers: Print Pages 3, 4, and 8 as a quick three-scene set for early finishers or a sub plan. Kids put the scenes in order and retell how Rahab hid the spies before coloring.
- Sunday School Instructors: Pages 1, 4, 6, 10, and 15 work well mixed up and handed to small groups, who put the story back in order together before the lesson starts, so the retelling becomes part of the activity itself.
- Children’s Ministry Leaders: Page 14 pairs naturally with a take-home moment. Kids can trace their own family name onto a small branch cutout and glue it beside Rahab’s, turning the family tree page into something personal.
- Parents at Home: Page 6 works well as a quiet bedtime devotional page, a good moment to ask your child what it means to believe something before you can see how it turns out.
Every Page Starts With a Real Artist
Rahab’s story asks a lot of an illustrator. She has to look composed while lying to armed men, warm while hosting strangers, and steady while lowering two lives down a wall on a rope. Those are not expressions you can fake with a generic clip art face.
I work with human illustrators because they notice the difference between a woman who looks scared and a woman who looks brave while she is scared, and Rahab needed the second one. That is the kind of small, specific choice only a person paying real attention can make.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Bible describes Rahab’s original profession using a word most children’s resources avoid. What should I know before my child looks this up themselves?
The Bible does identify Rahab by an occupation, one that most children’s Bible resources, including this one, choose not to name directly, focusing instead on her courage, quick thinking, and the choice she made. If your child is older and encounters the actual word while reading scripture themselves, I’d be honest that it’s there, and that it’s not really the point of why her story gets told, her bravery and what came after are.
Do these work for a lesson connecting Rahab to Jesus’s family line?
Yes. Page 14 was designed specifically for that conversation. It’s a great way to introduce older kids to the idea that God’s story includes unexpected people, and that everyone has a place in a bigger story.
This story ends with the walls of Jericho falling and the city being conquered. How much of that should I show a young child?
These pages focus on Rahab’s home specifically standing safe with the scarlet cord visible, rather than the wider destruction of the city. That’s genuinely the detail the story itself emphasizes about her, one household spared through faith and a promise kept. I’d keep the conversation focused there for younger kids.
